November 14, 2018Travelling1 commentthebitterbites

Kibber is a stunning village located in Spiti Valley Himachal Pradesh. It is at an altitude of 4205 meters above sea level. It is the highest motorable village in the world and holds the distinction regarding this. The village is situated in cold desert surrounded by barren landscape, picturesque mountains, and green meadows. The landscape is similar to that of Tibet and Ladakh. The Tibetan Buddhism is the predominant religion here. That is why Spiti Valley is also known as Little Tibet. There are various Himachal Tour Packages available for visiting this place.

Kibber

The Kibber is a boon for photographers and sky gazers, who get the most amazing pictures of the natural wonders here. It can be easily reached from Kye Monastery. The temperature drops below freezing point at the time of snowfall. The Villagers shift themselves to warmer locations during winters. Potato farming is common here and agriculture is the main source here.

The houses here are constructed in Tibetan style with adobe bricks and stone and are worth seeing. Kibber has all the basic amenities like post office, hospital, restaurants, electricity, school, and hotels. It has 80 houses and is located 16km from Kaza. The economy of Kibber is based mainly on the trade with Ladakh. The main trade route is Purang La. The Spiti people go to Ladakh to barter their horses and yaks. They sell it for cash also. The Trek takes minimum 3 nights. For trekking permits are required. Plan a Holiday Tour Package and explore the beauty of Spiti Valley.
